Between Revolutions

Jack and Leila are part of a queer community of activists in Berlin, deeply committed to the pro-Palestinian movement. Together with their comrades, they join demonstrations and face police violence, arrests, and mounting legal pressure, including the threat of deportation. As part of their political engagement, they work on a theatre adaptation of Larry Mitchell’s 1977 book The Faggots & Their Friends Between Revolutions, a queer utopian manifesto in the form of a fable. With each rehearsal, the text increasingly blurs with their own experience of being surveilled, silenced and under threat.
